Stella & Britney

As you know I posted the other day I was sick, I am no better and in fact it is getting worse but it is useless going to the Dr as I can't take any medication until I have my blood test on Friday to find out if I am pregnant or not.

I had been waiting for the launch day of the new Stella McCartney for Target line and had picked out what items I wanted to try on from the look book online.  I did not feel well enough to battle crowds so I did not get into Target till 8pm last night, feeling like the living dead I made it to the Stella section to discover everything I wanted was gone!!!!  The had one top & one dress that I wanted (just not in my colour or size), I tried the dress on in the wrong colour & size and I think it would be perfect in the right colour & size but I have no idea how I am going to find it (ebay maybe???)  I would also love to try on the top.  Maybe when I am feeling better I could try another Target but I am not holding much hope.

After that ducked into Myer and saw the new Britney perfume Radiance, it is a really nice fruity, floral and smelled great on.  Its nice & light which I like so I grabbed a bottle seeing Myer had 15% off fragrance last night.  I also tried the new Canturi fragrance, love the bottle but the perfume was way too strong for me, took my breath away & its $199 for the 100ml.  Guess I am not used to paying full price after years of ordering online.

Went to Starbucks for a much needed icy carmael java chip frappacinno to soothe my burning throat and watched the passing parade of peole that hang in the City on a Friday night.  Was glad to get home back to bed and watch the final Jersey Shore and the lastest episode of Glee.

Had to go to the Dr at Indooroopilly this morning so stuck my head in Target and they had the dress I wanted in the right colour and size!  Happy dance!  Something good came out of being sick.

Perfect timing!

So yesterday I woke up not able to speak, swallow, coughing heaps, aching all over & burning up.  I rolled over to find out Leigh had woken up exactly the same.  Hear I am looking for any 'signs' as to what may be going on with my body and now I can't as this flu has thrown everything out of whack. Trying my best to stay positive.

Its Leigh's birthday this weekend and we have plans so I hope we are both feeling better by then.  I also found out today that the repair needed on my shower is going to mean moving out for 2 weeks as the shower is not the only thing that needs to be repaired, there is severe water damage to 2 walls and floorboards so it is going to be a much bigger job than expected.  We will have to find pet friendly accomodation as the girls will be going with us (we have never put them in a kennel and I won't be starting now).

On a fun note I found out today Katy Perry will be touring next May so I hope to be able to get some tickets, saw her last year at the Tivoli and it was a great show.

Adam Lambert Glam Nation Tour The Tivoli Brisbane Oct 22, 2010

So last night we went to see Adam Lambert.  We loved Adam on American Idol from the first audition and looked forward to seeing what he was going to do every week.  We he made it to the final 2 we thought he had it in the bag and we were totally shocked when he did not win.  Although he has gone on to have a successful international career and Kris Allen has pretty much dissappeared (Kris who??) I think Adam still deserved to have the title of the winner of Idol.

Anyway there was a big crowd lined up when we got there last night and we found out from security that the show was sold out.  Real mixed bag of people in the crowd too, I was expecting lots of young & flamboyant people and although they were there, I was surprised at the amount of older people. 

Right on 9pm Adam strutted on stage in a feathered top hat with a glitter 'A' on it, a fringed jacket and leather pants with flawless make up.  In person he is very tall, he had 4 dancers with him also.

His voice sounded fantastic live, he has lots of energy and an incredible stage presence. He also seems to really love what he is doing.  There were several costume changes and a few chats with the audience. Overall it was a well put together show and I would go see him again for sure.

So we had happily been a one cat family, Celine (the diva she is) ruled the house and we thought that was the way it would always be.  Then in March 2006 we were getting some supplies from the pet shop and I had a look at the kittens playing, this one tiny kitten was getting beat up by another one.  She looked at me and I am sure she was saying get me out of here!  We had a pat and that was it we wanted her. We drove her home and played the same naming game with her that we played with Celine and again it worked. She meowed at the name Paris and that was that.

 The first time she went to the litter we discovered blood, we had to get her to the vet the next day and the poor little thing was a sick girl.  After a few weeks treatment she was all good and became the terrorist we know & love today.  Celine was not too impressed about this new ball of fluff and would hiss at her, Paris would not care and just follow her round like a puppy.

Well her name suits her well as just like Miss Hilton this Paris is a party girl!  Whenever people come round she has to be the centre of attention and will do anything to get your attention.  Celine just looks at her as if to say 'you little showpony'.  She's a very vocal girl and chats non stop, she also loves to answer back when you tell her off for being naughty.  Another thing is shes a licker, many a morning Leigh or I wake up to her licking our face and she loves cupcakes (you can't leave them unattended if shes around).
Like Celine she is also a very affectionate cat and loves kisses, cuddles & pats. We feel very lucky to have 2 gorgeous girls as part of the family.

Celine became a member of the family in Feb 1999 just before our wedding.  On a walk one night we found kittens on the road and put them back in the front yard they belonged in, a few nights later we saw the same thing but this time the owner was out front.  I don't like people who do not look after animals and was going to tell her this when she told me she was giving the kittens away and did we want one?  Leigh asked her how much etc... and she told us nothing to take one off her hands as she was giving them to the RSPCA.  I picked up the first kitten for a cuddle and it was a squirmer!  I looked down and this cute little grey cat with white marks had shyly walked up to me and started to rub my leg, I picked her up and had a cuddle and knew she was our cat! She was 6 weeks old and so cute, we walked home carrying her and saying various names to her to see which one fit, we said Celine and she meowed, we kept going through names and then said Celine again and she meowed again - she had picked her own name!

We were so excited to have her and she fit in right away.  Shes so pretty that the wedding photographer had to get her in some shots and there is a gorgeous pic of her & Leigh together that is one of my favourites.

She has a lovely nature and loves to play fetch with a ball just like a puppy.  She is a very affectionate cat and walks up the bed to give you kisses and noserubs everyday as well as lots of cuddles.  Whenever I have been sick she never leaves my side. She is a much loved member of the family and I am so glad we got her that night, it was meant to be!

 Ahhhh shiny things!  I have always loved jewellery and it is my favourite thing to recieve as a gift.  I have been collecting for many years and Leigh has kindly added to the collection.  Here are some of my favourites:

Hair - A History

I love hair!  I always have ever since I can remember. As a little girl I had long hair to my waist and I used to love brushing it & styling it in various ways.  Besides the odd colour change I have kept my hair pretty much the same for the past 7 years but I got to thinking about all the things I had done to my poor hair over the years and went looking through some old photo's. I can't believe at times what I thought looked good (surely I couldn't have ??)  Here is a history of just SOME of the things I have done to my hair (yep there is actually more styles than I have here but those photos are buried at Mum's somewhere).

Some of these styles are pretty scary (not to mention the fashion & make up)  but in the name of a laugh here are, for want of a better word, highlights...............

Gwen Stefani Harajuku Lovers Wicked

Gwen Stefani is releasing new Harajuku Lovers perfumes called the Wicked Collection and all the scents are new!  Snow bunnies was the same fragrance just different bottles and summer had one or 2 new things added but these are new fragrances.  I love the originals and have all of them in a pack so hope I can get the new collection in a pack as well.  Hopefully there will be a release date for Oz soon and I will be keeping my eyes peeled when at Myer/DJ's for them.

The scents are:

Love aka Sweet Lolita is a fruity floral. It has top notes of nectarine, mangosteen, juicy pear. Heart notes of orange flower, lotus flower, violet, osmanthus. Base notes are blonde woods, musk, sandalwood, hint of patchouli, dash of praline. The scent was created by perfumer Maurice Roucel.

Lil' Angel aka Gothic Lolita is a sparkling floral. Top notes are succulent plum, champagne, pomelo, bergamot. Mid notes are blooming lotuses, fresh queen rose leaf, waterlilies. Base notes are satin wood, rich amber, skin musks. The fragrance is signed by perfumer Céline Barel.

G or Omotesando Girl is a fruity floral. Top notes are granny smith apple, peach, pineapple. Heart notes are watermelon, butterfly blush, peony. Base notes are raspberry, musk, water accord. The perfume is by nose Christelle Laprade.

Music or Visual Kei is a woody floral. Head notes are juicy apple, watery fruit, bergamot. Middle notes are jasmine, gardenia, fuschia, peony. Base notes are swirling cedarwood, iridescent musks, crystallized amber. It was created by perfumer Adriana Medina.

Baby or Kawaii/Decora is a vanilla floral. Top notes open on white peach, red delicious apple, pink freesia. Heart notes are pink plumeria, lush orchid, jasmine petals. Base notes are glowing amber, sensual musk, creamy sandalwood. It is signed by perfumer Honorine Blanc
